The Ledlenser Possum Night Trail Run is Taupo’s premier after-dark trail running event. Runners and walkers can choose from three course options - 5km, 11km and 21km - making it a race at your own pace for families, first-timers and seasoned trail runners alike.

Starting and finishing at Owen Delany Park, the courses take participants through flowing trails, riverside paths and the enchanting forest, with the distant roar of Huka Falls adding to the atmosphere on the longer distances. As the sun sets, headlamps light the way and the event comes alive with glowing trails, music and a vibrant finish-line atmosphere.

Whether chasing a personal best or enjoying a fun night out with friends and family, The Possum delivers an unforgettable winter trail adventure.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home.
