Celebrating the Talent in Our Own Backyard

When people think of festivals, they often picture headline acts arriving from out of town. But some of the most memorable experiences happen much closer to home.

At the Malcolm Flowers Insurances Taupō Winter Festival, local talent has always been at the heart of what we do. From musicians and dancers to photographers, artists, performers and community groups, the festival provides a platform to showcase the creativity that exists right here in our own backyard.

For ten years, the festival has been about more than entertainment. It has been about bringing people together, creating opportunities for local artists, and giving our community a chance to celebrate the people who help make Taupō such a vibrant place to live.

Past festival programmes have featured everything from community exhibitions and live music performances to large-scale collaborative projects and family-friendly creative experiences. Local organisations, schools, clubs and charities have all played an important role in shaping the festival atmosphere, proving that great events don't always need to come from somewhere else.

Supporting local talent also means supporting the wider community. Every ticket purchased, every event attended, and every local business that gets involved helps strengthen the creative ecosystem that exists throughout the region. It creates opportunities for artists to share their work, encourages collaboration, and helps keep arts and culture thriving through the quieter winter months.

The Taupō Winter Festival has always been built on community connection. Local performers bring energy to our stages. Photographers capture the beauty of the season through a unique local lens. Artists create experiences that spark conversation and imagination. Community groups help turn ideas into events that people remember long after winter has passed.

As we celebrate ten years of winter made better, we're proud to continue championing the people behind the creativity. The festival isn't just something that happens in Taupō, it's something that is created by Taupō.

This winter, we invite you to discover new artists, support local performers, attend community events, and celebrate the incredible talent that helps make our region special.

From photographers and performers to artists and community groups, discover some of the local talent taking part in this year's Taupō Winter Festival.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
